How the South Coaster began

It started in 2016 as a free A5 tourist mag, a quarterly supplement to our local news magazines in the northern Illawarra – 2515 Coast News and 2508 District News.

Magazine becomes book

Along with much of Australia, the mag went into hibernation in April 2020 and by December it will be reinvented a book – sold via our website, local info centres and other local shops.

It's an all-Australian production!

The book will be 196 pages, printed on FSC-certified offset stock at our printers in Sydney.

Sharing local knowledge

The book's focus is on fun, family and adventure – with lots of outdoor action and nature escapes.

In the South Coaster, we love to share local knowledge and promote local business – so, a surf champ shares his favourite beaches, a cycle tour leader shares great bike rides and a SUP coach shares her top spots for stand-up paddle boarding.
